Fuzia Siddiqui to contest elections against Jamaat-e-Islami in Karachi

Fauzia Siddiqui will be contesting elections against Jamaat-e-Islami candidate
Naimatullah Siddiqui (ex Mayor of Karachi) in NA 250 Karachi. Fauzia Siddiqui
submitted her nomination papers from Na 250 to contest elections against Former
President Pervez Musharaf but since his nomination papers have been rejected
Fuzia Siddiqui is still contesting the elections as independent candidate. JI
has reached her and requested her to withdraw but it looks like she has made her
mind to contest elections in any case which has put Jamaat e Islami in a tight
spot. Earlier Fauzia Siddiqui was hoping to get Jamaat e Islami ticket but JI
brought its own candidate.
Jamaat e Islami youth wing led a campaign in 2005 to free Aafia Siddique but
when it came to elections they denied Fauzia Siddiqui party ticket but they
could have easily accommodated her on a reserved seat and only the Jamaat’s
leadership knows why they did not do so. If Jamaat e Islami can agree for seat
adjustment with PMLN why not with Fauzia Siddiqui.
