Vladimir Putin: An Iron Man and The Visionary Leader of Russia

(Dr. Syed Mehboob, Karachi)

Those nations are fortunate who have committed, dedicated, honest and visionary leadership. They possess leadership qualities and refuse to bow down against global colonial hegemony, monopoly and injustice. Unipolar world is hindrance in global durable peace and world desperately needs balance of power and to be converted into multi polar, more inclusion in world decision making and to be true democratic. Russia and China are two very important countries of the world. They both are permanent members of United Nation’s Security Council.
Vladimir Putin is a very intelligent, highly experienced and committed leader of Russia who wants greater Russian role in global politics which would pave the way for durable peace and to stop hegemony of few countries.

Vladimir Putin remained in the position of Russian President since 2012, and previously from 2002 to 2008. He was also the Prime Minister from 1999 to 2000, again 2008 to 2012.. Putin’s maternal grandmother was killed by German occupants of Tver region in 1941. Putin studied law at the Leningrad State University. He graduated in 1975 and his thesis topic was, The Most favoured Nation Trading Principles in International Law”. He also studied German and learned Business Law.

Putin made Russia strong economically and militarily. There are many accomplishments on his credit. During his first tenure as President of Russia economy grew an average by seven percent per year. Putin was appointed prime minister in August 1999. In March 2000, he earned the presidential election already in the first round, gaining 52.94% of the vote (almost 40 million people). Russia under Vladimir Putin was able to regain much of the influence it had lost after the collapse of the USSR. In addition, the Russian president has been able to build up geopolitical influence on a modest budget, especially when compared to the United States. Finally, Russia has become a major power in the Middle East, expanding its influence even further. The main achievement of the President of the Russian Federation is the ability to increase geopolitical influence, having a modest budget. The United States, for example, spends twice as much money on defense than "Russia on All At Once".

In addition, Putin was able to strengthen ties with China, annexed Crimea (the peninsula became part of Russia following a nationwide referendum, the idea was supported by an absolute majority of Crimean voters), and made a radical change in the situation in Syria, torn apart by civil war and terrorist attacks. Among Putin's successes is also the sale of weapons to Turkey, a member country of the NATO bloc. Recall that the sale of S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems to Ankara caused a strong negative reaction in Washington, which threatened even to impose sanctions against an ally.

In addition, Putin was able to "set the tone" for the Normandy Four summit held in Paris.

Russia's financial balance has become "one of the healthiest" on the planet. This was achieved thanks to Moscow's caution in matters of money and resources after the conflict in Ukraine, when Western countries and Kyiv imposed the first sanctions against the Russian Federation.

Among other achievements the worth mentioning are, prevention of the threat of the collapse of the country, victory over terrorism. Vladimir Putin led Russia at a time when the country was in a rather precarious state, both economically and politically. Just another default occurred, the economy stagnated, and the population was impoverished. Terrorists in the North Caucasus created their own enclave and began to expand it, intimidating the population of the entire country. He also ensured preservation and strengthening of Russia's international influence
Russia is a member of the UN Security Council, a country with the right of veto, as well as an equal (and in some cases very influential) participant in most major international alliances. In addition, under Vladimir Putin, alliances alternative to Western structures have been created and are effectively operating. For example, SCO, CSTO. Economic integration is developing on the basis of the EurAsEC, the role of BRICS is increasing. He opposed to "color revolutions"

Vladimir Putin did not allow nationwide chaos to break out in Russia according to the scenario of the “orange revolutions”.

After the failure of the "color revolutions", the daring, unrestrained expansion of NATO into the post-Soviet space was actually suspended.

The return of Crimea was also a triumph for the renewed Russian armed forces, which proved their ability to act not by numbers, but by skill, but also by kindness and politeness. Revival of the army and navy. Under Vladimir Putin, a new image of the armed forces has emerged - strong, modern, well-trained and well-equipped. The State Armaments Program has been adopted and is being implemented, the arsenals of formations and military units are being updated, and new military camps are being built. Social obligations are being fulfilled that are unthinkable even for the times of the USSR: for example, this concerns the issuance of “live” money to officers to buy their own housing. The competition for military universities is off scale for record levels.

Also Elimination of the "hornet's nest" of terrorism in Syri is also one of his accomplishments. To date, almost 90% of Syrian territory has been cleared of ISIS. Russia skillfully applied and demonstrated all its tools in resolving the Syrian crisis - from a military campaign to serious political efforts and humanitarian participation.

The current economic ultimatum announced by the West has not brought Russia to its knees. Surprisingly, it turned out that Russia can rely much less on imports and is even able to feed itself. Today, domestic agriculture brings income no less than, say, the military-industrial complex.

When Vladimir Putin first came to power, the West made vicious appeals to his past as a member of the security services. Among the threats that Western experts foreshadowed Russia was "tightening the screws" against the church. In fact, everything turned out to be exactly the opposite. Temples and mosques are being revived in the country, new places of worship are being built, religious educational institutions operate freely, and representatives of all faiths have the opportunity to celebrate holidays and other events. Many leaders of religious associations are members of various public structures, it has become a practice to award church ministers with state awards, which, for example, was difficult to imagine during the USSR.
According to him Ukrainian government was committing atrocities against Russian speaking Ukrainian who are 40% of Ukrainian population. A war between Russia and Ukraine started on 24th February, 2022. America betrayed Ukraine and escalated war. Putin since the beginning of the war warned that sanctions against Russia would jeopardize global economy and it happened and the worst affected are Europeans and even in USA interest rate is the highest since 28 years and inflation is increasing. In European countries situation is worst and economic hardship has influenced on the people’s life style which is declining.

It’s a high time that USA and EU should start meaningful and sincere negotiations as sanctions against Russia have backfired and affecting European countries badly. Peace process should be started before it is too late and to destructive. .
