Involvement of politics in education

(fatima mahmood, karachi)

The word “politics” is actually the social relations involving intrigues to gain authority power or the activities and affairs involved in managing a state or government in politics. But, unfortunately this purely government affair is no more restricted to government only. In fact, these activities are getting more and more common in our educational institutions and with a complete negative meaning and sense which has damaged the real purpose of institutions. the students mainly youngsters, instead of taking interest in their studies, have diverted their attention towards political issues. Moreover, the students who wants to concentrate only on studies are also deeply effected because of such unhealthy politics.

The political involvement has effected education so badly that students have indulged in activities like rallies, fights, firing, propaganda against each other, shouting fruitlessly, wasting their time in such stupid activities, bunking their classes and much more. It seems as if these young students are of no importance, other than the tools of politicians through whom, they fulfill their requirements and get their interest.

The increasing involvement of politics in educational institutions day by day has transformed them into the root station of the negative political activites. Management is now unable to manage their responsibilities freely without the instructions and directions from the effective political party of the area. The administration staff even can’t do its job without the political pressure of political parties as even the admission policies are “dictated” by them. Students who deserve admissions, positions and scholarships, don’t get their right just because of the influence of today’s politics. The parents whose children are indulged in political activities instead of studies, are so much afraid and disappointed about their life and future, which has actually become uncertain. If this political culture will continue in our educational institutions then the future of education in our country will not stay bright. So, in order to save the future of our upcoming generations, we have to end this political culture from our educational institutions.
