Google vs Apple : "A Defining Fight", Schmidt says

“The world is a great place”,
on one side Apple is fighting and trying to sue Samsung over and over again. On
one side Microsoft is doing the same thing with the Google in Germany. Google
versus Apple is also a hot topic now days. These battles truly show the
intensity of the competitions in technology world.
We were shocked when Microsoft said to sell more than 400 million windows 8
devices within 9 months a couple of days ago, and now we have a shocking news
that Google have called this number 1 billion for their Android devices within a
year. Google's executive chairman Eric Schmidt called this a “defining fight”
against Apple. He said that there were already four times as many Android
devices made by the likes of Samsung, and the scale of battle between the two
firms was unprecedented.
It was really amazing to see him saying,
“What Apple has learned is, maps are really hard.”

Google which is now the second most valuable company of the world said against
the world’s number one company, “We have not seen competitive fights on this
scale.” Schmidt.
It is of no doubt that Apple and Google once were very good and close friends
but now there is a wall between the two after the launch of Google’s green Robot
OS, which is now the world most used smartphone OS became the direct threat to
Apple’s iPhone and iPad business.
This fight became pretty much open when Apple cut of the YouTube application
from iPhone 5 without any replacement application and Google Maps with
replacement of iMaps which proved buggy. Tim Cook was forced to issue a public
apology last month because of iMaps errors and gaps in information.
Schmidt, Google’s executive chairman said in an interview with AllThingsDigital
that,
“What Apple has learned is that maps are really hard. We invested hundreds of
millions of dollars in satellite work, airplane work, drive by work, to get the
maps accurate. But the two competitors have always been in communication with
each other.”
About 2010 standoff with the government of China over cyber-attacks Schmidt said
that he don’t expect any mending up of this relationship. During these events
when Google restored their search engine to Honk Kong, he said, “Competitive
search engine Baidu will remain the number one player in China for a long time.”
