Terrorism in Pakistan

(Zunaira Khan, )

The most debatable topic in Pakistani political, social and economical edifice, which deliberately affects the progress of the country, is terrorist’s activities and its widening network in the most of the metropolitan’s cities of Pakistan. The policymakers often argue about weak actions against terrorism, which indeed, are mild solution to gigantic problems. The weak legislation, inefficient laws and counter terrorism acts, political contacts, favoritism and nepotism, dual role of parliamentarians and funding to different organizations that are working in the name of the religion are the main components which breed terrorism in Pakistan.

The inefficient process of combating terrorism is vague enough to fight against terrorism. The set up of new commissions and diversion of government as well as public opinion to different matters are main reasons which ends the matters in smoke. Nonetheless, the expectations towards the ANACTA are less hopeful because of the past false promises of the government.

However, without religious unity and elimination of sectarian differences the dream of peaceful Pakistan is idiosyncrasy of national progress. Dismantling hatred preachers and funding organizations for unity and harmony is essential. Not on the theoretical basis but on the practical levels the serious approaches are needed. The politicians’ non-serious behavior and reluctance is threat to innocent lives in Pakistan who’s every second is in danger.

Whereas, Zia’s Islamaization’s long lasting’s effects crippled the present-day Pakistani progress. However, the religious content was sowed into the hearts of the jihadis but the action to reaction became threat to Pakistan’s internal sovereignty. The unprotected longest border of Pakistan with Afghanistan is the greatest threat which is shelter to extremists for their activities. The internal law and weak legislation often make the terrorists more confident about their ambitions. However the constitution present, executive, legislation, etc are present. The most distinguish feature that Pakistan is the nuclear power but still begging for mercy and allowing foreign contents to interfere in the country’s internal affairs and law and order situation.

Pakistan’s army ranks among the top most and have latest technology. The civilian society is against of injustice and any criminal act against humanity then what the politicians are waiting for?

It’s not time to do gossips and making commissions for time-pass and photo shoots but for serious actions that nip the bud of terrorism and their organizations. These terrorists want to die then they should be dying by law not with many innocent lives.
