Twin remote controlled blasts
in ancholi block 20 f.b.area Karachi. First one explode outside a milk shop and
second exploded a minute later outside a catering centre a short distance away.
Nine people including Geo News Associate Producer Salik Jaffery and child were
killed during the bombings near a milk shop in the area late on Friday night.and
40 above injuries in twin blast.
DIG West Javed Alam said that both the devices were planted on motorcycles and
detonated by remote control. As per initial report of the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS)
3 to 4 kgs explosive material alongwith ball bearings was used in each planted
bomb. The injured, several in critical condition, were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed
Hospital, Liaquat National Hospital and Aga Khan Hospital.Several vehicles and
shops were destroyed due to the explosions. The police and Rangers have cordon
off the area and started investigation….
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen ( MWM )have
strongly condemned the explosion and appealed to the people to remain calm and
peaceful. The Muttahida and the Ulema Council also announced to observe mourning
over the incident.Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat -ul-Ebad Khan has condemned the
blasts and called for initial report from IGP, Sindh within 24 hours.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility Saturday for twin bomb
attacks in Ancholi.
