HISTORIC WOMEN CONVENTION HELD
BY WOMEN WING MQM (PAKISTAN)
AN EVENT TO BE REMEMBERED FOR EVER
Jalsa-e-Aam "Empowered Women, Strong Pakistan" held in Bagh-e-Quaid on the eve
of Sunday, the 19th Feb 2012. This convention was unique not only in Pakistan
but most probably elsewhere in the world, and the gathering was not simply big
one but really a mammoth one. Hundreds of thousand of women were present for
nearly than 3 hours; and the discipline was quite spectacular and highly
appreciable. This was a historic event and witnessing and endorsing such an
overwhelming, jubilant and amazingly immense crowd, the world will have to wait
for many years
The Quiad’s city was calm and composed as usual and no hustle and bustle
observed, hundreds of thousands of women were coming to a ground which was
systematically in fact exceptionally managed by the organizers. Credit goes to
Women Wing and volunteers and other organizers. Not taking any credit away from
the women participants as their zeal and enthusiasm were incomparable being
outstanding, and we have to acknowledge with open hearts that no such event has
ever been witnessed in Pakistan’s history before. Hundreds of thousands of
gentlemen were waiting patiently on the adjoining streets and areas for the
arrival of their Mothers, Sisters and Daughters from the jalsa.
Muttahida Quami Movement seems to have the habit of showing and proving for many
times now that MQM is the real representatives of people of urban areas of Sindh
and striving hard to continue its movement in whole Pakistan including remote
areas of the Country. People of Karachi have attended various jalsas /
gatherings of different parties, but when it comes to MQM, people are there with
MQM only and this reality has to be acknowledged by all and even by those who do
not like it.
The love and affection of people who admire their Quaid Altaf Hussain is beyond
comparison and it is also crystal clear from yesterday’s women gathering (Jalsa-e-Aaam)
that hundreds of thousands of women were present in a ground yet remarkable
discipline and restraint were evident, they all were busy chanting slogans and
weaving national and party flags. This relationship is exactly what we call
“Love and Respect”. All in all it was really a great success in terms of
commitment. Mr. Altaf Hussain made it very clear that women should always be
considered honorable and respectable, and any sort of violence or
discrimination, whatsoever, against women would not be tolerated. Women should
be given equal rights and chances as are given to men. Those who disregard women
are actually inhumane and they should learn to respect women because the women
is very honorable being mother, the sister, the daughter and the wife.
QET Altaf Hussain MQM has asserted the vary fact that for the sake of prosperity
of people, country and to achieve ultimate goals, all the parties and leaders
have to work very hard by abandoning discrimination, inequality and favoritism
and by maintaining brotherhood, tolerance and respect for others.
On Balochistan issue Mr. Altaf Hussain has again showed his grieve concerns and
made it very clear that we are with the people of Balochistan who are
unfortunately pushed toward the wall and because of unwise and imprudent
policies on Balochistan issues, the situation has never been such worse before.
Balochistan should immediately be given its due rights. This is the only way we
can move forward to take our country among those who are successful.
Civil society, scholars and sensible people of every walk of life openly
appreciated the women convention, where women having different languages,
customs and religion were together in a very harmonious way, being very
important and a good step toward the right direction.
