Those nations are fortunate who have visionary, honest, dedicated, far sighted leadership who lifted their nation from abject poverty to the status of dignified, respected and highly important status among the global community. Chinese are among those fortunate countries.

Mao Zedong was the founder of the People’s Republic of China and also chairman of Communist Party of China (CPC). He led the country from 1949 to his death in 1976. His thoughts and philosophy is known as, “Maoism”. He had anti-imperialist ideas later he became the founding member of Chinese Communist Party. He also founded the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants Red Army. Mao Zedong became the most influential figure in Communist Party of China and the party established a strong base among the rural peasantry with its land reform policies. Communist Party of China established People Republic of China on 1st October, 1949. Mao played a very important role in enforcing planned economy in China and constructed the first Constitution of the People Republic of China., He created a just and equitable system where all the resources of country were distributed among people equally in a way that the chairman and Prime Minister wore the same dress which was wore by common people. Chairman himself worked with labours and peasants. For thirty years leadership and people sacrificed for the future of their next generation. In 1963 Mao launched The Socialist Education Movement and in 1966 he initiated the Cultural Revolution. Mao is still regarded as one of the most influential figures of the twentieth century. Mao also taught history for some years and he had a deep sense of politics. Mao was a prolific writer of political and philosophical literature.

President Xi Jinping is highly motivated, dynamic, patriotic leader of China. He is General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC). He is serving as President of People’s Republic of China since 2013. He introduced far ranging reforms and measures to enforce party discipline and to strengthen China’s global position in world affairs.

He has also promoted “Common Prosperity” a series of policies designed with stated goals to increase equality. Xi possesses extra ordinary leadership qualifies and is a key figure in the world affairs. China’s economy has grown wonderfully under the dynamic leadership of Xi with GDP in nominal terms more than doubling from US$ 8.53 trillion in 2012 to US$ 17.73 trillion in 2021. After US announcement of Trade war with China Xi’s government allocated more than US$ 100 billion to support china’s efforts at semiconductor independence. Chinese government also supported technology companies like Huawei through grants, tax concessions and credit facilities.

China is the factory of the world. In 1970 its global production contribution was only 3% now it is 25%, it is exporting to about 200 countries and producing about 80% of world’s air conditioners , 70 % mobiles , 60% shoes, 74% solar sales , 60 % cement, 50% coal, 45% ship building, 50% steel, is being produced by just one country “ CHINA”. It is also astonishing that about 50% apples are produced by China while USA which is second in rank only produces 7 % apples of the world. It is now the world’s largest economy with GDP of $ 30.18 trillion (PPP). It is also the largest exporter of the world with $ 2.2 trillion export. It is surprising that 90% American flags are also manufactured by China. It is normally thought that China can only produce cheap goods but people are highly surprised when they are told that 60% of the most branded luxurious items are produced in China. In 1970s it was poorer than African countries. In 1978 its per capita was just $ 155 dollars while it jumped to $ 7,590 which is 49 times increase. It lifted more than 800 million people from poverty. Its mass production policies destroyed the price structure of most of the world’s famous companies and countries. It has competitive edge over many countries due to its mass scale production. Its workforce is highly trained, efficient, active, vibrant and experienced. China is the largest economy in the world by PPP since 2014, the world’s second largest economy by nominal GDP since 2010, and the largest economy in Eurasia. Since the introduction of economic reforms in 1978, China’s economy has been the world’s fastest growing major economy, with annual growth rate consistently above 10%. According to the World Bank China’s GDP grew $ 150 billion in 1978 to US$ 12.24 trillion by 2017. China also recorded the fastest rise in GDP per capita in the world from 1960 to 2018. China is the largest exporter and second largest importer of the world after America. One of the world’s foremost infrastructural giants China has the world’s largest bullet train network, the most super tall skyscrapers in the world. China borders with 14 countries, more than any other country except Russia.

China’s goal in launching BRI is to consolidate the world’s economies within its sphere of influence. China has beaten Germany, Japan, France and soon it is going to defeat USA. In 2028 which would be the world’s largest country in terms of economy and it is already the largest exporter of the world. China has investment and close economic ties with more than 150 countries. This BRI initiative is now called, “ 21st Century Maritime Silk Road”. Till August , 2022 148 countries were recorded as having signed with BRI.

China is progressing by leaps and bounds and its leadership is determined to take it to the highest peak of the world.
