In the green jungles of Bali, outside the town of
Ubud, there’s a village of 18 homes constructed almost entirely out of
bamboo. From a distance they look like jungle huts, but these are far
from it. These unique homes provide all of the comforts of a
5-star-living modern home.

The Green Village combines high-end design and sustainable architecture.
Banana paper is used for interior walls
and some aluminum for roofing, the rest is locally grown bamboo.
Roll down bamboo blinds and specially designed roofs help protect from
rainstorms.
Electricity and high-end kitchen fittings are standard in all of the
homes.
Bamboo staircases and walkways weave through the village.
The homes are centered around a single communal area. Each home has a
garden surrounding it to provide privacy.
The bamboo is treated with a mixture of boric acid and water to prevent
fungus and insects.
Dwellers can choose whether to enjoy the gorgeous jungle views from
their bed or a relaxing hammock.
The homes are priced between $500,000 and $2 million. But if you don’t
want to buy one, there are several that are available as rentals.
