بہت خوشی ہوئی کہ آپ کو مطلوبہ کتاب، مجموعے کی شکل میں مل گئی، حصہ اول شاید آخر میں شائع ہوگا
"دیتے ہیں سرور اول، لاتے ہیں شراب آخر" کے مصداق!
اگر آپ کا پرائز بانڈ نکل آتا تو شاید اتنی خوشی نہ ہوتی جتنی آپ کو کتاب کے مل جانے پر ہوئی ہے!
جن صاحب نے اسے مرتب کیا ہے اور جنہوں نے او یو پی سے اس منصوبے پر کام کیا ہے، ان دونوں ہی سے رابطے میں ہوں یعنی اجمل کمال صاحب اور مشرف علی فاروقی صاحب۔
یاترا اور دو سفر کیا عمدہ تحریریں ہیں، لاجواب!
امید ہے آپ نے خالد صاحب کا ناول چاکیواڑہ میں وصال بھی پڑھا ہوگا، ابھی پرسوں امریکہ سے قمر علی عباسی صاحب کا فون آیا تھا، "چاکیواڑہ میں وصال" کے "خواہشمند" تھے، یہ کام میں نے اپنے ذمے لے لیا!

Dear Rashid Ashraf Sahab! Thanks for the post sir! Fortunately, I have purchased both the volumes(i.e. II and III) comprising of his travelogues and short stories from Oxford University press Islamabad. They did not have the first volume comprising of his novels though. Yatra, and other travelogues in volume-II are just superb. They are sensitive and thought provoking, unlike the usual run of the mill 'suffer-namas'Mr.Ajmal Kamal, the editor has accomplished a commendable task.Regards.Abdur Rahman

Muhammad Khalid Akhtar is one of the finest writers I have ever read in my life. His wit, sensitivity and humanism is unparalleled among the indigenous as well as international writers. May be I am a little biased, but he has afforded me the maximum reading delight through Khoya Hua Ufaq, Chakiwara Mein Visal, Laltain, Do Safar, Maktoobat-e-KHizer and Chacha Abdul Baqi. I have tried my level best but I could not find his book Yatra. There have been other writers but no ne has ever engaged me so engrossingly. My profound compliments! May Allah Almighty rest his noble soul in peace(Amen).
