بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم
السلام علیکم ورحمۃ اللہ وبرکاتہ
Allaah says in al-qur'an:
وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ الَّذِينَ يَخُوضُونَ فِي آيَاتِنَا فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ
يَخُوضُوا فِي حَدِيثٍ غَيْرِهِ ۚ وَإِمَّا يُنسِيَنَّكَ الشَّيْطَانُ فَلَا
تَقْعُدْ بَعْدَ الذِّكْرَىٰ مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ ﴿٦٨﴾
Interpretation of the meaning:
"And when you (Muhammad) see those who engage in a false conversation about our
verses (of the Qur'an) by mocking at them) stay away from them untill they turn
to another topic. And if Shaytan (satan) causes you to forget then after the
rememberance sit not in the company of those people who are the Dhalimoon
(polytheists, wrong-doers etc.).
(Surah al-an'aam, ayah 68)

Imaam al-barbaharee has mentiond in his Sharh us-Sunnah and Abu Nu'aym in al-Hilyah
and Ibn Batta in al-Ibaanah and al-Laalakaa-ee in his Sharh Usool I'tiqaad that
Sufyan ath-Thawri, May Allaah have mercy upon him said:
"Whoever lends his ears to a person of innovation, has left the protection of
Allaah and is left to it."
Meaning: He is left to the innovation.
And Imaam al-Barbahaaree, Ibn Battah and al-Laalakaa-ee mentioned with an
authentic chain that al-Fudayl bin Iyyaad - rahimahullah - said, interpretation
of the meaning:
"Do not sit with a person of Innovation, for verily I fear that curses will
descend upon you."
They (i.e the innovators) are the biggest thieves. Because the thieves that
steal your wealth and your property only take something from the things of the
Dunyaa.
As for those who steal your heart and steal your soul, then they destroy your
hereafter.
They are the biggest thieves!
Al-Fudayl, may Allaah have mercy upon him said, interpretation of the meaning:
"Whoever loves a person of innovation then Allaah nullifies his deeds and takes
away thie light of Islaam from his heart."
(Narrated by abu Nu'aym and Ibn Battah and al-Laalakaa-ee with an authentic
chain.)
And he (i.e Fudayl) may Allaah have mercy upon him, said, as was mentioned by
Imaam al-Barbahaaree and Abu Nu'aym and Ibn Jawzee in Talbees ul-Iblees.
Whoever glorified a person of innovation has aided in the destruction of Islaam,
and whoever smiles in the face of an innovator has belittled what Allaah has
revealed to Muhammad salAllaahu alayhe wasallam.
and whoever marries his daughter to an innovator has cut ties with her.
and whoever follows the funeral of an innovator will not cease to be under the
wrath of Allaah untill he returns."
This is the foundation from the foundations of the religion.
A symbol from the symbols of the Sharee'ah.
It is strongly tied to the 'aqeedah of the Muslim.
It is from the Pillars and Signs of the Prophet methodology as the Messenger of
Allaah salAllaahu alayhe wa sallam came with.
