Public Health is one of the
fundamental human rights supposed to be protected by the state. Lady Health
Worker Programme is an important part to help in providing such important
services to the poor and needy people of third world countries.We recognize the
efforts of the Government Punjab for recently the implementation of the Punjab
Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health Authority Bill 2014 led to the
decision to regularize the services of 48,000 LHWs after a long protest and
hunger strike.
We are kindly requested to Government of Punjab to take necessary steps to fill
the vacant positions for uncover areas and overall increase in the number of
LHWs and CMWs in the province. . It also requested to you focus on routine
immunization and add it in LHW,s TORs.Government of Punjab also focus on budget
allocation for their medicine and training's of on duty Health worker so that
they can participate more effectively to provide thier services of poor and
needy people.
