Dramas

The TV dramas broadcasted from our neighboring country are surprisingly very popular among the females of our country; their stories, costumes and jewelry is something which is greatly admired by the women of our nation. I often hear about them from my friends discussing the characters and their beauty.

As I seldom watch anything on TV and especially where Indian channels are concerned; I became curious and after watching some of those soaps I seriously became suspicious about their mental health. You can sum up all of those soaps in this precise way.

All of the girls (Heroines) are so dumb that they can’t find their way about anywhere without the Hero’s help even in this era. Moreover they are clumsy enough to fall about every where and each and every Heroine is bound to it, and where do they land except in the arms of the Mr. hero himself., even then she is so stupid that instead of being abashed at her own clumsy ways she stare hard at the Hero and that man stares back; they quite have a staring matching for at least 10 minutes with the horrible background music going BONG BONG and DONG DONG. After they get tired of staring at each other they find that they are in love with each other. This sequence just has to be repeated in every other play soap; can’t for the life of me think of why they are called so, may be they melt like a soap into nothingness.

The girls and women living in grand palaces are so poor that they can wear expensive make up, Jewelry and clothes but they can’t hire a servant or even a cleaning lady; they cook, wash and do every possible chore even sleep in that un natural heavy make up, costumes and jewelry which they wear from head to toe literally.

They are so patient that it makes the viewer sick. The hero after marriage that is; before that he is all hero like for sure; so after marriage is just vulnerable and the wife just goes on and on to bear the cruel acts of course till the last episode where as if a miracle every thing is settled.

The other women that are not Heroines have to be the perfect spies; spying on everyone; listening hard with their ears pressed to the doors, with the great audible powers that they can even hear what is said in whispers. They pass on that news with perfect timing, teach how to backbite cleverly and yet appear innocent when all is said and done.

Some of our TV channels appear to copy the same pattern without realizing that how unearthly and unrealistic they appear to be. This influenced in the form that the cheap language; dirty jokes and slang are repeatedly heard in dramas and shows which no sophisticated person could ever appreciate.
