Champions

The curtain rises-------2nd Century
“Ummi, I want a new dress! Please Ummi, I want one!” Little Isabella appealed.
“But why? How many times do I have to tell you? Eid is not our holiday. Its theirs. They are Muslims. We are Christians. We are different. We don’t celebrate their holidays.”
“But Ummi, everyone in our class is celebrating it.”
“Oh dear Lord! How do I tell you?! Jesus Christ, help me!!”
The curtain falls.
Gone are the days……..
The curtain rises again-------21st Century
“Mama! Look at this Christmas card we made in school today!”
“Oh wow! Look at the pretty colours.”
“Mama, we also made little stars and decorated our Christmas tree”
“But you do know honey that it’s not our holiday. We are Muslims. Christmas is for Christians.”
“Yeah mama, I know but still it does look pretty, doesn’t it?”
The curtain falls
This is the dilemma you and I are facing each day. Whether its Valentine’s day, Christmas, Easter, Mother’s day, father’s day. Halloween isn’t even a religious holiday but we have to endure it.The great contrast between the two above scenarios highlight the fact that the world follows the leader.
They lead---we follow
They order---we do
They do--- we copy

We may not agree with the idea behind Christmas but by celebrating it, we do admit that we are the followers and not the leaders.
Islam has come to lead. Muslims are born to lead. If we choose to become the followers then it automatically gives the others a chance to lead us.
Don’t give them that chance!
Stand up!
Open your eyes!
We are the ones Quran calls the moderators---“Ummat-e-Wast”. We should control the world.
Reality check……….we can’t even control ourselves.
Look at the shopping malls around you. Do they support the fact that the holiday just around the corner belongs to only 1.6% of the population? They have led us into celebrating something we have and had no intention of owning.
They are the leaders.
They lead---we follow.

The only solution!
Become leaders ourselves.
We have “The Torch”. We were born to lead.
So let’s report for duty.
Because the world stands for the champions!!
