Now-a-days Maulana Fazal Rahman
is once again active in bringing about some sort of compromise between Zardari
and Sharif brothers. As in the government of Pervez Mushararf he was always busy
in taming Qazi Hussain Ahmad for supporting Musharaf and the government of NWFP.
Outwardly he is showing himself as a democracy loving politician, and his sole
aim, as he claims, is to save the system. But looking upon his past history, one
can easily understand why he is toiling so hard for bringing some sort of
reconciliation between Zardari and Sharif brothers thus maintaining the status
quo.
During the period of Mushararf, he was the one who fully support the agenda of
Pervez Musharaf though clandestinely and very tactfully satisfying all the other
component of the religious amalgamation MMA, whose name has become just a symbol
of fraud and deceit because of him.
It was very late when Qazi Hussain Ahmad realized the real politics of this man
and give head to the ever crying of the party workers that were constantly
warning him about the statecraft of that person. That’s why Qazi was shocked
when he heard about the land scandal about that person.
When we were studying at school level one of our teacher was very funny, and he
called our rich class fellows as being the member of 22 families of the country.
Though the number of rich families in our country has increased manifold but if
we assume that still those 22 families control the resources and politics of the
country, an addition in the form of Maulana family should be made and the number
should be considered as 23.
And that status he got by supporting the killer of the 1500 innocent students of
Jamia Hafsa and hundred of thousands of innocent people in the tribal belt of
our country. Who increased extremism in the society, and because to his policies
the very existence of the country is at stake.
As we have said earlier how adverse the situation might have been, Maulana Fazal
Rahman has the acumen to pave his way through.
Once again, though with a little representation, he is enjoying the booty of
power. Never mind what are the policies of PPP on internal and external level,
he is satisfied with his brother and other party members in ministries enjoying
perks of the government.
When he talks of confrontation, he is only to save his share in the government.
He is not concerned how adverse are the conditions of the state.
Keeping in view his previous experience of elections, he is strongly opposing
the option of mid-term elections. And for his own vested interests, he is
against the reinstatement of Chief Justice Iftikhar Chudry.
In all the negative things about that man one positive thing which we heard from
the mouth of Qazi Hussain Ahmad is that Fazal Rahman cannot be trusted. A lot
can be construed from this statement of Qazi Hussain Ahmad but for the time
being it is enough.
