Minor allergies may be caused by smoke, flowers and dust although the patients of asthma can be seriously affected by smoke and dust causing shortness of breath. Certain medicines are also known to cause allergic reactions which can sometimes be fatal. It is necessary to take allergy tests before starting any new medication or treatment on a patient. An example of such medicine is penicillin which can be fatal to a person allergic to its ingredients.

One of the top allergic signs which one should not overlook swelling on different parts of the body such as hands, feet and face. This shows that reaction occurred due to the use of certain medicine or special food intake. It is common to find that the modern medication is increasingly showing more side effects or allergic reactions such as irreversible damage to the nervous system, rash, puffing of the skin, vision problem, confusion, tremor, liver failure and ulcers. If any of these side effects or allergic reactions occur the medicine should be discontinued and the concerned doctor be notified immediately.

Sometimes people (in most of the cases children) become seriously allergic to bees sting because they act as poison for them causing the stung place turn blue and the face swollen. To overcome this danger if known that someone is allergic to bee sting; should be kept away from any such place of bees influence and first aid box containing special medicines should be kept at hand.
