Situation-Karachi

(Shaheer Ullah Khan, Kharian)

Karachi holds a very important place due to its strategic location and a staggering population. Being home to country’s largest sea port, the city has established the reputation of being Pakistan’s industrial hub.

Its populace of around 2.5 crore consist of people from not various ethnicities but various nationalities as well, like Indians, Burmese, Bengalis, Nepalese etc. Unfortunately for the past few years these poor inhabitants are living in a constant state of fear, due to the poor law and order situation. If a person leaves for work in the morning he doesn’t know that whether he will come back to his home, alive, or will be a target of some bullet coming from nowhere.

The fear of the populace has lead to the weakening of the country’s economy. Karachi is the life line of Pakistan’s economic infrastructure. But investors have lost the confidence of investing here. Why would some one invest his capital in a place where there is so much uncertainty regarding human life, let alone the elements of profit or loss.

Pakistan is already facing severe financial losses by being a frontline and major belligerent in the war on terror. If Karachi’s situation remains the same, things are going to get worse. Some say it’s the product of internal rivalry between political parties, where as some people are of the opinion that this turmoil is fueled by foreign elements who don’t want to see Pakistan coming forward as a strong country. And some people think that is the um of both these factors, combined.

Now, two things come up over here. If the problem exists because of rivalry between the political parties, to them I have one thing to say. Stop fighting among yourselves. The people didn’t vote for you, so that tomorrow instead of curbing problems you become their reason.

Coming to the other possible factor i.e. foreign involvement .Alhamdulillah, it has been 64 years since the creation of Pakistan. In this while our beloved country has faced many troubles and when it came into being, the world was of the thought that this sate will tremble down, but by the Grace of Al-Mighty Allah, we have withstood all these tough times. Our resolve to exist with dignity is rock solid. So if the foreign elements are wanting to weaken us, that’s a wish will never be fulfilled, InshaAllah.

Along with the government a heavy responsibility also lays upon the shoulders of the public i.e. whenever law breaking element are seen, they should be reported without any hesitation so that the beauty of the “Roshnion Ka Sheher” is restored.
