Ingredients
  1. Chicken ½ kg
  2. Onion 250 gm
  3. Ghee 250 gm
  4. Green cardamom 6
  5. Green chilies 6
  6. Almond 6
  7. Yogurt ½ kg
  8. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  9. All spice powder 1 tsp
  10. Turmeric 1 tsp
  11. Desiccated coconut 1 tbsp
  12. Nutmeg & mace powder ½ tsp
  13. Chili powder 2 tsp
  14. Raw papaya paste 2 tbsp
  15. Coriander leaves as required
Method
  • Heat 250 ghee in a pan, add 250 gm chopped onion and fry till golden brown. Remove brown onion and keep aside.
  • Grind together 3 cardamoms, 6 almond and 1 tsp cumin seeds.
  • Marinate ½ kg chicken with 2 tbsp raw papaya paste for 30 minutes. Add marinated chicken to the remaining ghee and fry well till golden brown.
  • Mix together ½ kg yogurt, 1 tsp all spice powder, 2 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tbsp desiccated coconut, ½ tsp nutmeg and mace powder.
  • Now add yogurt mixture with crushed brown onion to the chicken mixture.
  • Cook on low flame till chicken is tender. Lastly add green chilies and coriander leaves. Turn the flame off and serve hot.
