  • Grease a baking pan slightly and pre heat oven at 175 c or 350F.In a bowl, add 1 cup dates, 1 cup fried figs, 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 tsp baking soda and a cup of boiling water and mix well. Keep aside for 15 minutes. In a separate bowl, add 1/2 cup sugar, 2 eggs, prepared dates mixture, 1/2 cup plain flour, 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt and beat well. Blend this mixture and pour in a baking pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 50 to 55 minutes and serve.
