میں جاگتا ہوں ترا خواب دیکھنے کے لیے
نہ جانے شہر میں کس کس سے جھوٹ بولوں گا
میں گھر کے پھولوں کو شاداب دیکھنے کے لیے
اسی لیے میں کسی اور کا نہ ہو جاؤں
مجھے وہ دے گیا اک خواب دیکھنے کے لیے
کسی نظر میں تو رہ جائے آخری منظر
کوئی تو ہو مجھے غرقاب دیکھنے کے لیے
عجیب سا ہے بہانا مگر تم آ جانا
ہمارے گاؤں کا سیلاب دیکھنے کے لیے
پڑوسیوں نے غلط رنگ دے دیا اظہرؔ
وہ چھت پہ آیا تھا مہتاب دیکھنے کے لیے
