خود کو پہچاننے کی کوشش میں
دیر تک آئنہ تکا کرنا
رخ اگر بستیوں کی جانب ہے
ہر طرف دیکھ کر چلا کرنا
وہ پیمبر تھا، بھول جاتا تھا
صرف اپنے لیے دعا کرنا
یار کیا زندگی ہے سورج کی
صبح سے شام تک جلا کرنا
کچھ تو اپنی خبر ملے مجھ کو
میرے بارے میں کچھ کہا کرنا
میں تمہیں آزماؤں گا اب کے
تم محبت کی انتہا کرنا
اس نے سچ بول کر بھی دیکھا ہے
