خود نوید زندگی لائی قضا میرے لیے
شمع کشتہ ہوں فنا میں ہے بقا میرے لیے
زندگی میں تو نہ اک دم خوش کیا ہنس بول کر
آج کیوں روتے ہیں میرے آشنا میرے لیے
کنج عزلت میں مثال آسیا ہوں گوشہ گیر
رزق پہنچاتا ہے گھر بیٹھے خدا میرے لیے
تو سراپا اجر اے زاہد میں سرتاپا گناہ
باغ جنت تیری خاطر کربلا میرے لیے
نام روشن کر کے کیونکر بجھ نہ جاتا مثل شمع
نا موافق تھی زمانہ کی ہوا میرے لیے
ہر نفس آئینۂ دل سے یہ آتی ہے صدا
خاک تو ہو جا تو حاصل ہو جلا میرے لیے
خاک سے ہے خاک کو الفت تڑپتا ہوں انیسؔ
