Question (Total Replies: 2)Tuesday, April 23 2013

Samiha (Student)
Matriculation / O Level
O levels
Rawalpindi

I took science subjects(physics, chemistry, maths) along with computer studies social studies(english, urdu, pak std) in my o levels and now I'm going to join a levels. I had originally planned to join information technology but now have second thoughts and want to go towards the banking side. Would it be possible for me to easily take those subjects even though i haven't studied them in o levels?? And if i continue on toward IT, does it have any scope in Pakistan?

Dear Samiha

Since A'level is HSSC equivalent and accordance with Pakistani universities/institutes entry criterion you need not to worry about A'level subjects. When you will get pass A'level with good marks and plan to get admission in Undergrad program, A'level with IT/CS subjects wont prevent you seeking admission in Banking side or whatever. Exceptional case is, if you are planning to do undergrad degree from some foreign university/institute then only Pre-Req come into play. So my suggestion is to keep continue A'level with same combination and later seek counselling regarding University and degree selection.

I advise you to stick on your first thought because seeing your previous subjects it would seem difficult to handle banking. you dont have some basic pre-quist subject for it. So go for IT
