Saghar Siddiqui was born in 1928 in Ambala. His real name was Muhammad Akhtar. He lived the early life in Ambala and Saharanpur (UP, India). His early studies are from Habib Hassan, a friend of the family. He started from 7-8 years of age and became so fluent in Urdu that people usually came to him for letters writing. He on a regular basis attends mushairas. He was also vigorous in an Urdu majlis (society) formed for the progress of Urdu literature by Dr. M. D. Tasir and Maulana Tajwar Najibabadi and attended its mushairas. He most likely had some tragic turns in his life. He died in Lahore on 19 July 1974 at age 46.
