Altaf Hussain Hali was born in 1837 & died in1914. Recognized with his honorifics as Maulana Khawaja Hali, He was an Urdu poet and writer. Hali occupies a special place in the history of Urdu literature. He was a poet, prose-writer, critic, teacher and reformer. He was a good friend of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. He has written the Musaddas-e-Hali which have a significant place in Urdu literature.
