Fairy tales

Poet: Muniza Wasi By: Muniza Wasi, KARACHI

I heard fairy tales with interest

when I was a child of innocent age

Of angels, princess and demons

those playing parts were the main roles

I used to live in those tales

keep thinking of occurrences

such incidents that change ones life

that make a beggar into prince

the glory turns in wretchedness

and all my life I waited long

but none such happened to my life

that filled me with the happiness

which could enlighten life

and poverty to royal riches

In real life no such thing happens

the fairy tales have no real endings.
