 Shahid Afridi Profile
Shahid Afridi - Boom Boom Afridi is not just a player; he is the true passion and spirit of the game. He is one of the most dangerous and popular cricketer in the world. Shahid Afridi is one of the greatest performers of the game. His mesmerizing smile and aggressive yet polite personalities has won the hearts of millions including critics. He possesses the firmest handshake in international cricket. Afridi was introduced to international cricket as a 16-year-old leg spinner; but he surprised the cricket pundits by pinch hitting the second fastest one-day hundred in his maiden innings. Shahid Afridi debuted in the World of Cricket against Kenya in October 1996, and was awarded the Test cap 2 years later in 1998. Dashing Shahid Afridi proved himself as the hard hitter of the ball by scoring number of sixes in ODI cricket history but he still recognizes himself as a better bowler than a batsman.

He has so far amassed more than 8,064 runs and grabbed 395 wickets in one-day internationals. Shahid Afridi is currently serving as Twenty20 captain for Pakistan and will lead the team in T20 World Cup 2016 in India. He has made various records in all the formats of the game. He holds the record of the 4th and 7th fastest centuries on 45 and 58 balls respectively in ODIs. He has also knocked 2nd fastest Fifty in ODIs on 18 balls. He was able to achieve the highest career strike rate in ODI Cricket of 114.6. Shahid Afridi is known for hitting hard sixes and has the record of total 351 sixes in ODIs. He is the only Pakistani player to grab most of the Man of the Match awards. He is the third leading wicket taker in his T20 career with total of 83 wickets. Shahid Afridi is the only player to score a 50 and grab 5 and more wickets three times in the career.

Apart from his cricket records he is a humble being who is deeply involved in social work activities for his own foundation “Shahid Afridi Foundation”.
