Facilities for commercial education which were seriously deficient in areas adjoining Federal Capita were conspicuous by their total absence in Islamabad till 1972. The Federal Government College for men was established in 1972 to provide facility of commerce education at intermediate level. In 1975 the college succeeded in acquiring affiliation of its B.Com classes from University of the Punjab, However, these classes came to function as an independent institution in September, 1979 under the name of Federal Government College of Commerce. Though business education covers a wide range of applied disciplines, the college could single out its programs for Advance/Cost Accounting, Auditing, Statistics Accounting, Banking, Book keeping, Business, English, Pakistan/Islamic Studies & Urdu up to I. COM and B.Com level. |
