کیوں اتنی لمبی ہوتی ہے چاندنی رات جدائی کی
نیند میں کوئی اپنے آپ سے باتیں کرتا رہتا ہے
کال کنوئیں میں گونجتی ہے آواز کسی سودائی کی
سینے میں دل کی آہٹ جیسے کوئی جاسوس چلے
ہر سائے کا پیچھا کرنا عادت ہے ہرجائی کی
آنکھوں اور کانوں میں کچھ سناٹے سے بھر جاتے ہیں
کیا تم نے اڑتی دیکھی ہے ریت کبھی تنہائی کی
تاروں کی روشن فصلیں اور چاند کی ایک درانتی تھی
ساہو نے گروی رکھ لی تھی میری رات کٹائی کی
