Twitter reaction: Shaheen Shah Afridi debuts against NZ

Pakistani fast bowling talent Shaheen Shah Afridi has made his Test debut in the 3rd test match against New Zealand after replacing Mohammad Abbas on Monday.

Shaheen Shah Afridi will be 236th Pakistani to play Test for national side and also second youngest player to make debut at the age of 19 after Shahid Khan Afridi.

While speaking to media before the debut, Shaheen said, ” I always had belief in my ability and in my hard work although I did not expect my chance will come in Tests so early.”

Afridi has been the part Pakistan cricket team and represented the country in the T20s and ODIs for nearly a year now.

The young lad played his first T20 match against the West Indies on April 3, 2018 after he was selected from Pakistan’s under 19 side. Moreover, he made his ODI debut against Afghanistan in the 2018 Asia cup.

He has also become one the youngest player to represent the country in all three formats.

So it’s not only a big day for the fast bowler but also for the cricketing fans all around the world who were eager to see him in the Tests. Similarly, some are calling Afridi’s debut in five-day long format a bit too early.

Hashtag #ShaheenShahAfridi is currently trending on twitter.

But will the young-gun be able prove his brilliance in the Tests just like he did in the other two formats. Will he make his test debut a memorable one? Well, we have to wait and see.
