| | Iqra, always try to be specific when you are writing to us. Engineering is broad field of study. The nature of course can vary from; sketching the drawings on sheets (architectural engineering) to the diping of hands in black oil (mechanical engineering). The core fields of engineering are mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering and civil engineering. Mechanical engg deals with fluid machanics, inertia, thermodynamics, design, friction etc between/inside the parts of a system. Electrical engineering, as the name suggests, deals with the electrical components and systems. Electronic, computer and telecom are the popular sub fields of electical engineering. Chemical engineering deals with the extraction of chemicals, the reactions, food processing etc. Civil engineering is concerned with the infrastructure development i.e the building of dams, bridges, houses and roads. This may also include the township plannings and designings. All other fields of engineering are a part of or the sub fileds of one or more of these core fields. For instance: Textile engineering is a sub of mechanical engineering and chemical engieering.
