| | Walakum Asalam,
Dear Haris,
I don't know what area of specialization you were selected in your MCS. But as you have done MCS with some general courses and want to join the Networking Area. It is possible. But defiantly it requires some basic concepts before the way you want to go. First If you want to run your skills for just LAN working then you might need to select the Microsoft platform, or Linux based server sides. In Microsoft as you know is v.simpler to click in the networking, and its certification is also valuable, like MCSE or MCP. And if you want to go for the independent licensed (GNU) platforms you must be prepare yourself to work without color screens. And for WAN area, their are the best choice, is Cisco Certifications, like CCNA, CCNP, CCIE. Because Cisco routers and switches are widely used in the enterprise market and in complex WAN interconnect scenarios. And defiantly Cisco claims more than 80% traffic for Internet passes through their switches and routers.
You know getting certifications is not enough it requires the passion behind to grow your abilities. So keep working with networking and try to convert yourself as a solution provider with your passion, interest and hardworking.

| | Wa Alaikum Salam Haris First of all, I welcome you on HamariWeb.com Career Counseling section, which shows your concern about your career. Before deciding where to start, you need to probe into your own feelings that you "want to do some thing in Networking Area", is that because you think Networking is easiest thing you find in computer science or you really have passion to understand complex networking connectivity and build networks? If first one is the case, I would recommend you that seriously consider not doing anything in networking, because that will produce only a mediocre network engineer. In second case, you are advised to investigate current networking challenges which companies are facing in your target market (e.g: Pakistan, if you want to work here). Once you find out most common challenges, then start working on resolving a challenge or at least build your knowledge about how to resolve it. This will make you a hot skill in the market which most of the companies would like to hire. Building such skills often require time and expert support. You can find a company which is facing similar problem or have supporting work environment. This way you will not only learn faster but also be productive for that company. Last but not the least... Follow your passion, world will follow you!
