Dear Telecommunication is growing field here in Pakistan as well in abroad and when Gawadar port will be completed many more companies will come here in telecommunication sector so you have to do Telecommunication.

Though telecom sector is widening and spreading but there is much saturation in the market especially in our country. Economic crisis are grooming fast due to which investors are drawing out their money from the industries. Taking all these circumstances into consideration, I suggest that one should not bound himself to one specific field. People should do their graduation in general/parent field instead of derived/child field so that if you don't get job in your interested field, you can avail other opportunities to get other related job as early as possible after graduation. Telecom, Computers, IT, Mechatronics etc. are the derived fields of Electronics. Once you are IN in Telecom Sector, you are bounded to only one field and if you don't get job, you will wait and wait and wait or just do some other small work. I suggest you must graduate as Electronics Engineer and after graduation, when you get chance to start a job in Telecom sector, you can do your Masters in Telecom. Being an Electronics Engineer, you can switch anywhere like Power sector, Textile Industry, Telecom, Instrumentation, IT, Marketing & Sales, Aviation, Oil & Gas sector, Cement, Sugar & all other manufacturing industries where there is a running plant with precise automation, Automobile industry, Networking, Ships and marines, logistics, air ways, air lines, and many more etc. Its a friendly advice of a fresh Electronics Engineer (2005-2008). I know this comment has been posted too late for you since you have got your admission but don't worry, you can switch your technology after your first year. Stay updated for COT(change of technology) notice at the end of your first year. Try to give priority to Electrical and then Electronics. If still you are confused, take a glance at Sunday classified and career opportunities in newspaper. You will definitely understand the difference. And remember, telecom jobs are never published in newspaper. Its my personal experience. Try it !!
