It was narrated that 'Ali said: “I used to draw water, one bucket for a date, and I stipulated that they should be good quality, dried dates.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنْتُ أَدْلُو الدَّلْوَ بِتَمْرَةٍ وَأَشْتَرِطُ أَنَّهَا جَلْدَةٌ .
