Legendary Qawwali singer Amjad Fareed Sabri needs no introduction. Heir to his father Ghulam Farid Sabri of the famous Sabri brothers, Amjad Sabri learnt Qawwali singing from his father at the age of nine. He performed for the first time at the age of 12. Since then, he never looked back and became one of the most acclaimed Qawwals in the subcontinent. Amjad Sabri was recognized nationally and internationally for his Sufi music, Naat e Maqbool (SAW), and Qawwalis. Amjad Sabri Qawwalis and naats show his love and devotion towards Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) and Islam. Some of the record breaking Amjad Sabri Naats and Sufi Kalam include Bhar Do Jhooli, Tajdar e Haram, Allah Hu Allah Hu, Ya Rab Meri Soi Hui, Meri Tauba Qubool Ho to name a few. Amjad Fareed Sabri gained immense love and respect for his popular Naats and Qawwalis across the globe. Considered to be an asset for the nation, Amjad Sabri was assasinated on 22nd June 2016 in Karachi by armed gunmen. Emotional reactions burst on electronic and social media following his death.
