On 4th Jan. 2011, Governor Punjab Late Mr. Salman Taseer was assassinated/killed
by his own security guard in Kohsar market Islamabad. The murdered, being
mentally & religiously independent and secular nature person, actually had been
found guilty of uttering non-presentable views about the Toheen-e-Risalat Law
mentioned in Pakistan Penal Code 1990. Mr. Taseer emphasized on combating the
misuse of this Law against non Muslims. Especially, in case of the accused Asia
Bibi, who was already imprisoned being found guilty of committing the
Toheen-e-Risalat, Taseer wrongly indulged him in the case and tried his hard for
release bail of Asia. He also talked and filed a mercy petition to the President
in this regard. This act flared-up the religious emotions of more than 90% of
Pakistani people. There were strong protests all around the country against Mr.
Taseer. But unfortunately no one tried to seek assistance from "Toheen-e-Risalat
Law mentioned in Pakistan Penal Code 1990" in this connection and not even a
single case was filed at any level, to penalize the guilty Taseer. The matter
was just restrained to these street/roads protests, with no advancement
legally...
Under these circumstances prevailing, Mr. Qadri actually fell into tremendous
religious pressure (being a great lover of Holy Prophet PBUH), and at the last
he failed to control his inner volcano, thereby ultimately killing Salman Taseer
on 04-1-2011 in Islamabad....
Thereafter in Oct.2011, he was sentenced to death penalty by the Court of Law.
But this couldn't be implemented at that time due to great religious & political
pressures on the PPP Government, and Qadri remained imprisoned till
Oct/Nov.2015. Meanwhile Mr. Qadri & his supporters knocked the door of SCP for
justice, which was rejected by the three member court bench (headed by Justice
Azmat Saeed Siddiqui) on following grounds:
(a) Mr. Mumtaz Qadri at every level accepted his act of killing and also
supported religiously this act as according to Islamic rulings, as fully correct
and said that he wants to get into "Jannat" at the earliest possible time, to
meet Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH.
(b) He failed to provide any proof of Toheen e Risalat.
Now after rejection, Mr. Qadri being at the Last resort, filed the "Mercy
Petition" to the President Mamnoon Hussain. The critics declared this act of Mr.
Mumtaz, as acceptance of his offense. As the current government is seriously
implementing NAP & death penalties over the last one year, therefore President
has to stand with the decision of Supreme Court of Pakistan, thereby rejecting
mercy appeal of Mr. Mumtaz Qadri, and he has hanged to death penalty on morning
of 29th Feb.2016, the leap year..., Lastly, I can draw three conclusions from
all this:
(a) State will never pardon anyone taking law in his own hands.
(b) Now Non Muslims will be extra careful about Toheen risalat law
(c) Same level of religious emotions are required in case of Sahaba Karam r.z.
to stop anyone to talk bad about them.....
