Right from the inception of
this country, the wishes of the people are being given no any weighting rather
it is considered in the interest of the state to ignore them never mind if all
the internal and external policies have failed with an irreparable damage to the
honors and society of the country.
It is a common practice among the comity of nations that the interest of the
state should be kept in mind while dealing with other nations. No doubt the
wishes and thinking of the people are also given due weighting during all those
relations on the national and international level.
But in our country all the waters are flowing in the opposite directions. Only a
few chosen can decided what is in the interest of the state and what not.
Elections in which the turn out doesn’t exceed 40%, and the democratic system
thus formed are just a smoke screen to legitimize the decisions of the ruling
junta. Otherwise all the decisions are made according to their own wishes and
interests. 160 millions people have nothing to say in the policy making.
Take for example the decision of becoming a front line state in the American war
on terror. What benefit it gives to the nation. And the repercussions of this
war on terror are clear to all and sundry!
And our well wishers in the leadership of Pervez Musharaf, and now Zardari, are
still dying hard to argue that it was and is in the interest of the nation.
Though this war on terror has engulfed some sixteen hundred on the western
orders precious assets of our security persons and made some half a million
Pakistanis homeless. The overall insurgency in the society is additional to it.
One wonders who will be blamed for all these atrocities done to this nation. On
whose sleeves we will look for the blood of our country men who are being
killed, without their guilt being unknown to them, and for the sake of Yankees.
Never in the know history of the mankind such a practice would have been done by
some rulers who would have killed and butchered their own people for the
appeasement of others. We Pakistani set this precedent for the coming
generations.
A simple ‘no’ can stop all this. Ask the Yankees ‘it was enough’. We can no more
help in prolonging your occupation in the neighboring Afghanistan. If this ‘no’
is not uttered this practice of killing our own people will continue and both
the sides will be funded by the Yankees, one openly and the other of fake
Taliban clandestinely. Why are they promising some 15 billion dollars to
Zardari’s government? Only to bombard the tribal built and wage a war against
your own people.
Stop supporting the Yankees in the war against terror and completely shun off
the policies of Pervez Musharaf and then see what happen. If still the fake
Taliban are challenging the writ of the government then see the nation of the
Paks what it do to you. The whole nation will be behind you and will back you in
all such move where the interests of the state are at jeopardy.
In the present state of affairs when you’re playing the role of a front line
state in order to prolong the occupation of the Yankees in Afghanistan if you
are crying with full throat that it is in the interests of the nation no one is
ready to believe you.
In a state when your are silent as if stung by a snake when the predators are
openly butchering your citizens in the tribal built how
can you get the support of the nation.
Remember how powerful you are, when the nation doesn’t back you, you cannot when
even win a single battle. And the present one is a great game wrought against
Pakistan to punish it for its Islamic ideology and nuclear power. And this
simple solution doesn’t enter the skull of our policy maker!
