Ingredients
  1. Chicken½ kg
    Rice300 gm
    Potatoes½ kg
    Saltto taste
    Ginger garlic paste2 tbsp
    Onion2
    Yogurt250 gm
    Mix whole spicesas required
    Plum50 gm
    Turmeric2 tsp
    Coriander leaves¼ bunch
    Mint leaves¼ bunch
    Green chilies3 – 4
    Kewra2 tbsp
    Red food colorfew drops
    Green food colorfew drops
    Ghee½ cup
    Tomatoes3
    Chili powder1 tsp
    Ghee¼ cup
Method
  • Heat ½ cup ghee in a deep skillet and fry2 chopped onions until golden brown. Remove some onions and keep aside.
    Add the ginger garlic paste in the remaining onions along with 1/2kg chicken. Fry until the chicken is tender
    Add whole all spice,250g yogurt,1tsp turmeric,1tsp red chili powder and salt as required. Clamp the pan shut with a  lid and allow to cook
    In a separate pan add water and mix in 1tsp turmeric along with 1/2kg diced potatoes. Boil until tender then deep fry the potatoes
    Cook the rice and in the meantime, mix all the ingredients in the pan with the chicken and turn the flame off.
    No add in the fried  potatoes, chopped coriander, julienne cut green chilies, chopped mint leaves sliced plums and chopped tomatoes
    When the rice is half down, spread three layers of rice on top of the chicken mixture, and cover with crushed brown onions.
    Add a  few drops of kewra , red food color, green food color and melted ghee.
