Ingredients
  1. 4 oz. Patna rice
  2. 2 tablespoons mollasses
  3. 1 tablespoon water
  4. 1 oz. fried cashew nuts
  5. 1 teaspoon cardamom seeds, crushed
  6. 2 tablespoon sesame seeds, fried and crushed
  7. 1 oz. unsalted butter
  8. 2 oz. grated fresh or desiccated coconut
Method
  • Boil rice and set aside. Heat the mollasses with the water over gentle heat. Add cashew nuts, cardamon, sesame and a knob of the butter. Stir well and add the rice. Cook gently, stirring constantly for about 25 minutes. Add coconut and remaining butter. Stir and cook for a further three minutes. Remove from heat and serve hot.
  • Note: Cooking time 30 minutes, To serve 4
