  1. ½ kg potatoes
  2. 6 green chillies
  3. a small piece of ginger(ground)
  4. 2 tbsp sugar juice of one lemon
  5. 10 to 12 raisins
  6. 2 tbsp fresh cocnut (grated)
  7. 2tbsp corlander leaves (chopped)
  8. 150 gms gram flour (besan)
  9. 1 cup water a pinch of asafetida
  10. 1tsp turmeric
  11. 1tspred chilli powder
  12. Salt to taste
Method
  • Boil peel and mash the potatoes with a fork. Make into smooth pulp . Then add the green Chillies, ginger, sugar, lemon juice, rasisins, coconut and coriander leaves. Mix well. Now make firm lemon sized balls and seta side.
  • In a separate vessel, mix together the besan, water, asafetida, turmeric and red chilli powders and salt, and make a thin batter. Cover each potato ball with the batter and deep fry on a medium fire till golden brown.Serve hot with coriander chutney.
