Parvez Elahi hosts dinner in honour of senators-elect

LAHORE   -  Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi hosted a dinner in honour of the Senators-elect to celebrate their unopposed election from the provincial assembly. Assembly members from Pakistan Muslim League (PML) and PTI MPAs also attended the dinner.  Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Mohammad Mazari, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Provincial Ministers Mohammad Basharat Raja, Hafiz Ammar Yasir, Ch Zaheeruddin, Sardar Asif Nakai, Mohammad Akhtar, Yawar Abbas Bukhari, Ch Ikhlaq, Saeed Akbar Niwani, Raja Yasir Humayun, Ajmal Cheema, Sibtain Khan, Hafiz Mumtaz, Mohsin Leghari, Mian Mahmood Al-Rasheed, Taimur Khan, Jahanzeb Khichi, Hashim Dogar, Chairman Committee Mian Shafi Muhammad, Chief Whip Syed Abbas Ali Shah, Sardar Hasnain Bahadur Dareshk were also prominent on the occasion.  Speaking on the occasion, Ch Parvez Elahi said that Senators have been elected unopposed for the first time in history.  He further said:  “We are an ally of Imran Khan.  Our MNAs had voted for the government candidate in the National Assembly and they will also support the Prime Minister seeking a vote of confidence from the National Assembly”. Ch Parvez Elahi said that the election process ought to be transparent for the promotion of democracy.
