Karan Johar accused of stealing Abrar Ul Haq’s hit song “Nach Punjaban”

Pakistani famous Punjabi singer, Abrar Ul Haq has accused film-maker and producer Karan Johar for stealing his famous Punjabi song, “Nach Punjaban”. Johar, owner of Dharma Productions has also produced the upcoming movie Jug Jugg Jeeyo. Haq tweeted that this will be the sixth time his song has been stolen. He announced to take legal action against producer – Karan Johar and His production company –Dharma Production.

Further, Abrar said he has not sold the song to anyone and he preserves the rights of the song.

T- Series, music label responded to Haq’s allegations. T- Series on twitter claimed of acquiring all the rights before releasing the song.

The film Jug Jugg Jeeyo directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios. It is a comedy-drama film starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Manish Paul, and Prajakta Koli. It is expected to release on 24 June.

This is not the first time that the Indian producers are accused of copying songs and tunes from the border across the country- Pakistan. Recently Hadiqa Kiani’s songs ‘Boohey Barian’ were also stolen by Kanika.
