LEGAL PROFESSION

The legal Profession is the toughest in the world. The students who have not taken a keen interest in studies do not adopt this profession. The learning and search-based course groom the learner in the initial stage. Today, there are many professions but law is unique itself because public dealing is the most headache for some lawyers. Moreover, the memorized stories of the petitioners are very important elements for the lawyers to brief to courts as per facts and law. Today, the needs of legal consults, advisers, legal managers, law officers, or attorneys at different experts in the field or requirements of the firm or organization, etc. As far as concerned the degree of law is based on concepts of law and the theory of different laws which are prevailing in our societies. There are different types of laws, some special laws for the respective communities or groups or religious affairs, and general law applies to the entire state without discrimination.

The students are admitted to LLB for a 5 year's program after they declare pass then they will sit in the Graduate Assessment Examine (Law GAT) which is essential to be enrolled as Advocate as per section 26 of Bar Council Act- 1976. There are some sort of essential requirements before enrolling as an Advocate must be not convicted by any court neither pending any criminal liability nor neither he/she dismissed from Government Service, etc. These are the basic & essential elements for becoming an advocate. There are different criteria for the Respective Bar Councils for the enrollment of young advocates but LLB+GAT is the same for all the provinces. However, the criteria of fee schedules or memberships are different in provinces. Punjab Bar Council, Lahore is the license authority and membership will be given by the respective Bar Associations of the concerned district. Membership is essential for lawyers and has the right to vote and contest bar elections as per procedure.

As far as concerns fears regarding appearance in courts are still intact, nevertheless, it will reduce gradually your practice in different courts. Moreover, your instance in each case is very important and it will change the direction of your case. I have seen many advocates and students who have done their law degree but they have no interest in this field. Further, those who do not know the art of drafting face hardship in the earlier stage of practice which is the most crucial part of the legal profession. Without the art of drafting you will not survive in this field and face bottlenecks in the initial stages as well clients have not attracted your communications skills. I have seen many young lawyers who have not been able to leave their comfort zone which is to bear the consequences. This profession is full of unacceptable circumstances and bottlenecks faced by the advocate. It is a mind game and is tackled with patience.

Henceforth, the rules of advocacy are very strict and hard to adopt as a second profession. The legal profession binds legal obligations for the societies and is adhered to by the people. Unfortunately, some provisions of the constitution of Pakistan contradict Islamic injunctions. As a student of law, I feel that Article 19 of the constitution narrates freedom of speaking is limited to expression. I do not understand why contempt of court proceedings, or security concern is mentioned in this article. This is a baseless provision and no need for us anymore and should be revoked. Security is not child play which is dangerous for any conversation or argument. The public officer holders should criticize under healthy environments and with solid reasoning. The ban or limited freedom of expression is a gross human Rights violation. Today, the legal profession is under pressure and paralyzed under the domain of a hidden enemy. Whereas criticizing any judge is not the public domain but criticizing the verdict of the courts is pure public domain.
