Ingredients
  1. - 350 g. pitted prunes
  2. - 1/2 cup walnut halves
  3. - 2 tbsp. margarine or butter
  4. - 1 cup water
  5. - 34 cup sugar
  6. - 1 tbsp. Pomegranate syrup*
  7. - juice of 1/2 lemon
  8. (available in Middle Eastern Groceries)
Method
  • 1. Stuff each prunes with the walnut halves.
  • 2. Heat butter or margarine in a sauce pan and sauté for about 5 minutes.
  • 3. Add the sugar, water, pomegranate syrup, and lemon juice.
  • 4. Simmer, uncovered, over a low heat for about 20 minutes or until tender and a thick syrup is formed.
  • 5. Serves as a side dish.
  • 6. Serve: 6-8
