Ingredients
  1. 1 large onion
  2. 2 cloves garlic
  3. 1-inch fresh root ginger
  4. I tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
  5. 1 lb. lean meat, minced 1 tablespoon gram flour 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  6. 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  7. 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  8. ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  9. ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  10. 2 teaspoons ground almonds pinch of nutmeg
  11. Salt to taste
  12. 1 egg
  13. Oil for grilling
Method
  • Mince the onion, garlic and ginger very finely. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and set aside to marinate for 30 minutes. Grease skewers, shape the meat into long cigar shapes and thread on to the skewers, lengthwise. Turn skewers from time to time whilst grilling and keep brushing meat lightly with oil. Before serving slide the kababs gently off the skewers and serve with onion rings and roti.
