Ingredients
  1. 4 oz. semolina
  2. 1 lb. sugar
  3. 1 ½ pints milk
  4. 4 oz. unsalted butter
  5. vanilla essence or
  6. 6 cardamon seeds crushed
  7. TO DECORATE
  8. Chopped nuts
  9. Silver leaves
Method
  • Mix the semolina and sugar in a large saucepan. Slowly mix in milk and melted butter. Bring to the boil then reduce the heat and cook very gently, stirring constantly, till mixture becomes very thick. Add flavouring and continue to cook till mixture leaves the sides of the pan. Spread it in a shallow, greased dish and flatten to i-inch thickness. Cool and cut into squares. Decorate with chopped nuts and silver Leaves.
