Ingredients
  1. 1) Chicken (1 kg small cube) 500 gm
  2. 2) Lentils (Soak lentils for 1 hour) 1 cup
  3. 3) Carrots 2
  4. 4) Potatoes 2
  5. 5) Onions, small cut in halves 3
  6. 6) Capsicums 2
  7. 7) Salt to taste
  8. 8) Chilies powder 1 tsp
  9. 9) Ground cumin 1 tsp
  10. 10) Oil 1 cup
  11. 11) Green chilies lightly crushed
  12. 12) Coriander leaves chopped 1/4
  13. 13) Tomato puree 1 tbsp
  14. 15) Curry leaves 4 leaves
  15. 16) Water 3 cups
Method
  • 1. Heat half oil first fry chopped chicken in hot oil, fry until brown, pour water in it and cook for 15 minutes until stock remains 2 cups.
  • 2. In another pan, heat the remaining oil, fry all the vegetables then add curry leaves then chilies, salt, tomato puree, ginger and cumin then add cooked chicken and boiled lentils.
  • 3. Cook at least 10 minutes, then pour chicken stock, crushed green chilies, and coriander leaves.
  • 4. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • 5. Delicious lentil hot pot is ready to serve with rice.
