Ingredients
  1. Oil1 cup
    Basmatirice½ kg
    Water4 cups
    Chickenpieces½ kg
    Mix wholespices1 tbsp
    Nutmeg, mace½ tsp
    Staranise2 – 3
    Plums8 – 10
    Saffrona pinch
    Orangefood colora pinch
    Kewra1 tsp
    Salt as required
    Coriander powder1 tsp
    Ginger1 tsp
    Garlicpaste1 tsp
    Onions4 medium
    Yogurt1 cup
Method
  • Boil rice with salt and 4 cups of water. Drain the water out when it boils.
    Heat oil in a pan and fry onions till golden brown.
    Add all spices, star anise and chicken till meat changes its color.
    Mix yogurt with ginger garlic paste and add in it.
    Cover the pan and after few minutes remove the lid, the meat will be done in its own water.
    High the flame and fry well, when the water dries out put the rice layer.
    Then add saffron, orange food color, kewra and put it on dum.
    Pour well mixed in a dish and sprinkle fried onion on it and serve.
