Ingredients
  1. 1) Freshly cooked short grain rice 4 cups
  2. 2) Eggs (optional) 4
  3. 3) Zucchini- cut into thin strips 1
  4. 4) Carrot- cut into thin strips 1
  5. 5) Spinach leaves, sliced 10
  6. 6) Garlic crushed 1 tbsp
  7. 7) Sesame oil 1 tbsp
  8. 8) Salt 1 tbsp
  9. 9) Sirloin beef 8 oz
  10. 10) Soy sauce 2 tbsp
  11. 11) Garlic 1 tbsp
  12. 12) Sesame oil 1 tbsp
  13. 13) Sugar 1 tbsp
  14. 14) Freshly ground black pepper 1/2 tbsp
  15. For the daikon salad
  16. 1) Daikon radish, halved & sliced into thin strips
  17. 2) Ground red pepper 1 tbsp
  18. 3) Minced garlic 1 tbsp
  19. 4) Sugar to taste
  20. 5) Toasted sesame seeds
  21. 6) Chilli bean paste
  22. 7) Sesame oil (optional)
Method
  • 1. Prepare the vegetables by blanching in boiling water, drain and toss with the crushed garlic, sesame oil and salt.
  • 2. Prepare the salad by coating the daikon well with the ground pepper, and then tossing gently with remaining ingredients.
  • 3. In a non-stick pan, fry the beef till color changes.
  • 4. Combine the other ingredients for the beef, in a bowl, and add the meat to it.
  • 5. Fill four bowls with rice.
  • 6. Add the vegetables, beef and daikon salad.
  • 7. If desired, top up with an egg, sunny side up.
  • 8. Serve with chilli bean paste on the side.
