Ingredients
  1. 8 raw green bananas (plantains) 2 green chillis
  2. oil for frying
  3. 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  4. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder salt to taste
  5. 1 carton yoghurt
  6. 1 teaspoon garam masala
Method
  • Cut bananas into 1-inch slices, chop the chillis. Heat some oil in a saucepan and fry the mustard seeds and chillis until the mustard seeds pop. Add turmeric, fry for a minute and add the bananas and salt. Fry for a few minutes before adding the yoghurt and garam masala. Cook gently for about 20 minutes.
  • Note: This is a special type of banana called plantain. It is available in West Indian grocery shops.
